Merton Green Party are pleased to announce their candidates for the General Election on 8 June.
Charles Barraball will be standing in Wimbledon, and Laura Collins in Mitcham and Morden.
Charles is a long-time campaigner on local issues in Merton, particularly on cycling, road safety, public health and disability rights. He is retired and previously worked in building procurement. He recently remarried and lives in West Barnes. He has four children and six grandchildren. He stood in Wimbledon in the last general election and has stood for the Council several times.
Laura lives in Mitcham with her partner and three children. She has worked in a variety of fields but has most recently concentrated on management consulting for financial services firms. Laura founded the Friends of Figge’s Marsh last year, which has been active in improving that neglected park. She enjoys volunteering on litter picking and on conservation-related projects like tree maintenance and planting. She has been an active member of her local school’s parent teacher association for five years.
